The 3rd Annual Clara Cup Women’s Championship gun fired at noon on Sunday September 13 in some up and down conditions. Run as a pursuit race event, the course took the participating women’s teams to T2 and return. Crossing the line to capture the cup by a 1.5 minute margin over Espresso, Team Sarah aboard Split Second added their name to the Cup. In third place was Emrus, followed by two-time previous winner Break Free.
Best dressed crew – Team Espresso joined here by host Grant – were kitted right down to their dainty white gloves.
The annual event pits female crews against one another aboard their own or loaner boats. This year, the four boats on the line had very comparable PHRF potential tightebning the racing even in the unpredictable winds. Fun was had by all.
