“Ready About”
Definition and Function
“Ready about” is a command given by your Cruise Host(s) to alert the club members that another exciting and entertaining season of cruising is about to commence. Cruising involves preparing oneself and their boat into the theme of the cruise and guide yourself from the stresses of your daily life and change the direction to fun, good conversations and great memories.
Importance
- Preparation: Gives the club members time to prepare for the adventure.
- Coordination: Ensures all club members members are aware and ready to execute their roles.
- Safety: Reduces the risk of accidents by ensuring everyone is prepared for the fun.
- Response
When the club members hear “Ready about,” they should acknowledge the Cruise Host and prepare themselves and their food or beverage of choice..
Our First Destination:
The start of an AMAZING new tradition between the ABYC and our neighbours TH&SC!

Time : 2 pm to Late night
Locations:
- 2 pm – 5pm: THSC Clubhouse Patio
- 5 pm – late night: North End of the ABYC Parking Lot the “North/South” Wall

The event will kick of at TH&SC at 2 pm for some afternoon snacks and draft beer; with the introduction of the First “Tom Cruise” Award Cocktail/Mocktail contest and end up at 5pm back at the ABYC for our their annual Chili Cook Off!

ATTENTION: Mixologists
THSC will be the host for the first destination of our Combo Day Cruise and will be introducing our First (possible) Annual Tom Cruise Award. There will be two categories: Best Cocktail and Best Mocktail. More Details to follow; however, start planning in your laboratories your secret concoction.
All participants who enter the cocktail/mocktail or Chilli contests will earn credit towards a decorative and prestigious cruising flag.
Those interested in attending or participating one or both events must register by Tuesday, May 6th.
